Hello Nina, firstly I'm here, we're all here. You may feel lonely, for which I'm sad, but you are not alone. Cold comfort perhaps, but true and important. I hear and sense the darkness you describe you're feeling. Perhaps because I know darkness well myself. Writing does really help, I think. But it's not enough on its own. Personally I also need talking, whether that's my therapist or friends or my therapy AI chat it (surprisingly good on the Headspace app). I also need distraction to give me a break. I also need rest. I also need work my writing, though I'm too ill at the moment with fatigue. What I'm trying to say is writing is very good, but nothing is enough on its own. More than one piece is needed to complete a jigsaw.

Enough of that. What matters is you're lonely, you're hurting, and that's rough. I'm battling exhaustion and heartbreak in a heatwave, living alone for the first time in 2 decades. I feel you. I can't help fix anything, because that's impossible, but I am a fellow human walking their own difficult path as you walk yours. Stay in touch. Keep reaching out. Sending love ❤️

You don't even know how good it feels to have you here Aniela. Your words mean a lot, especially in times like this. I'm sorry to hear you are going through shit as well, and I want to say: stay strong, we can do this (and ofc we can and will), but at this point I am so tired of being strong and I just want a space to be weak and vulnerable. And I'm ok if my writing reflects that. I'm so tired of people sharing only good things. So, yes, thank you for this. If nothing, we have a shit ton of material to write about!

Also I do NOT only share good things on my account! Quite the opposite 😂

I'm going to DM you...

Writing is like crying. It won't fix anything, but it's very healthy.

Sounds like I could live a long healthy life. Oh god🙄

1. I would like to see a photo of the 3 cute cats.

2. You did not cheat.

3. While you are writing alone, you are sharing it and touching others with your writing. Maybe you don't feel less alone, but your readers might.

4. That is all I have for tonight. 🐈

Thank you for this Christine!

Photo of cats added! The third cat, Ikar, is always somewhere outside, so I don't have a proper photo of him. Yet.

Don’t say sorry no need Nina. And writing is part of the process of healing and releasing. Accepting your own darkness is part of healing too. After we have endured pain we need to sit with the shadows for awhile, until we are ready to move forward.

Yesss, thank you! I'm so sitting with the shadow, playing cards and stuff...she's winning for now, but I think she's cheating, haha.

No, seriously, thank you for this! ❤️❤️

Let me try to analyze this article with you because I find it really interesting, and since you have questions. 😊

I think the act of writing itself is the transformation you’re looking for.

Maybe the pain will always be there. The pain of being human, of constantly falling and rising again. But I truly believe that writing is the right tool to channel that pain and turn it into growth.

I’ve come to see writing as my purpose. And along the way, who knows? Maybe we’ll discover something else meaningful and constructive. But I think the most important thing is to stay on the path, to keep following whatever you feel is your calling.

Sometimes it’s not only about feelings; it’s also about the brain. The brain needs direction. And when the heart and the mind work together, that’s when we know we’re on the right path - even if, at times, we still feel lost.

This is beautiful Marijana, thank you! On my normal days, I agree with you 100%, haha. And then there are days when I question everything, and yesterday (when I wrote this post) was one of those days.

completely understandable! 🥰

Some people prefer to look away from the darker, more difficult emotions they’re experiencing in their life. Others prefer to turn towards them and stare right back. Similar to you, I find myself in the latter group (I’m actually a Death Doula on the side). I’m glad you stayed long enough to hear that woman’s story that resonated deeply with you. And I wholeheartedly agree with your remark: admitting it to ourselves first is often the first step in the healing process. Thank you for sharing this story.

Oh, I do like to stare right through my demons. It's not a pleasant process, but it usually pays off eventually. I don't think I would be able to write at all if I didn't. Like, where would the inspiration come from? haha

Thank you for this comment Sarah, means a lot, truly. Also, I must admit I did not know the expression Death Doula. It sounds like a Star Wars character... I like it.
